Alabang is about 20k from Makati but travelling, to and from there, is now a breeze, especially when you take the skyway. When you are in the heart of Alabang, you will not miss the towering steel and glass facade of Crimson Hotel Manila in Filinvest City. Last Mother’s Day weekend, this was our home away from home.
The hotel drop off is at the ground floor of Entrata Urban Complex. Crimson Hotel’s main lobby and reception is located at the 8F of the building. This spacious and beautiful lobby with a fountain at the center will greet you upon entering the main hall.
It was a hectic weekend at the hotel, being Mother’s Day and all the ladies joining the Nike Women Race were there. The lobby and the reception was busy and we have to line up and wait for a few minutes to check-in. After that, we wasted no time, with our luggage bags in tow, the 3 of us we went straight to our room.
We booked a spacious premier room for our stay and we loved it!
The big comfortable beds, plus the perfectly cool air conditioning were too inviting for us not to stay inside the room for a little while. After all, it’s just past 3pm and it’s still too hot to go outside.
There a spacious desk, perfect for laptops and other gadgets. It also has a mounted 40” LED tv and a high-speed wireless internet access that worked well during our stay. Power sockets are in the useful places – by the bed and by the working area. There are also light switches hidden by the bedside table drawer, which makes turning on and off the lights more convenient. There is a table for 2 near the window offering great views of Alabang.
There are 3 big closets and inside them you can see an electronic safe where you can lock in your valuables, robes, slippers and a luggage rack in one, and even ironing horse in the other one, and plenty of hangers! The hair dryer was kept in one of the drawers beside the work space area.
The toilet was supplied with all the needed Crimson’s own branded toiletries. Gab always look for the the bath tub whenever we checked in a hotel but the rain shower head made up for it.
One of the hotel facilities is the fitness center. It’s fully with equipped with treadmills, cardio and strength machines and weight equipment. The hubby decided to stay and do his workout here while Gab and I headed out to the pool.
It was a busy weekend at the hotel and many kids and their parents are hanging out by the deck area. The swimming pool, located at the 8th floor, has separate pools for adults and children. It was so windy but the kids do not mind at all!
We all slept so soundly that the next day, blame it on the very comfortable bed, we woke up a bit late and we had to hurry catch the breakfast. Cafe Eight is the hotel’s main restaurant. They serve an International buffet with fresh and healthy cuisines. We love the pastries, especially the danish breads. And the nuts too! There you can have walnuts, almonds, macadamia and unshelled pistachios!
After breakfast, as expected, we’re back into the pool again!
One our favorite in the upper deck was the luxurious Dedon loungers. Dedon Nestrest are over-sized bird’s nest, handwoven from weather-resistant Dedon fiber.
It was a great Mother’s Day staycation. I get to enjoy the weekend with my boys and still get to run at Nike Women Race on a Saturday night!
