We love eating pasta at home. It is easy and quick to prepare to fill up our hungry tummies. Plus, Gab is not much of a rice lover that he prefers to eat pasta and bread over rice meals. When preparing pasta, what does it mean to cook your pasta the al dente way? This means not to make is soggy and mushy but rather tender but firm to the bite and easier to do when you are using a good quality pasta.
In this National Pasta Month, Doña Elena Al Dente invited pasta lovers to celebrate the occasion by taking the regular pasta dishes to the next level. Chef Michel Cottabaren of the Blackboard shared his pasta recipes using Dona Elena products.
Some attendees, including me, were able to test our cooking skills in preparing a pasta dish. The cook off was a challenge to prepare a delectable dish with good presentation for 10 minutes. It was an fun afternoon of learning about, cooking and eating pasta!
Doña Elena Al Dente is the only Artisan Quality Italian Pasta brand in the Philippines which is sourced from Italy. It is made from 100% durum wheat semolina or hard wheat. The Artisan way of making pasta preserve the food nutrients, especially protein, more than food cooked in high heat.
What to love about Doña Elena Al Dente Pasta
– Made from 100% durum wheat semolina or hard wheat. Only pasta made from Durum Wheat can be considered al dente.
– Doña Elena Al Dente is also GMO-free, 100% certified all natural.
– Compared to other local pasta brands with only 6% protein content, Doña Elena Al Dente Pasta contains 13% protein.
– Does not require oil because it doesn’t stick together when boiling.
Eating pasta is good for the body as it is appropriate for a dynamic and healthy lifestyle. It can be prepared in such a way to meet the primary food requirements. Aside from the choice of sauce we use, it could be more healthier, by choosing good high quality pasta.
And when someone asks you how you like your pasta, simply say, “Al Dente!”
