We love going to the park and playgrounds. We try to schedule our weekly visits to run around, play ball or at times feed the fish. Few days ago, we went out to feed the birds at the Venice Piazza at McKinley Hill.
Feeding of the resident pigeons starts at 4pm. They are selling bird feed for Php 20 a pack. Based on experience, one pack of bird seed is not just enough 🙂 After feeding there’s a little play place that children can play for free. There’s also a 4-wheel pedal cart that can be rented by older kids for Php 100 for 30 minutes.
Gab likes the close encounter and feeding of the birds. He remembers feeding rice to the hen and the rooster back in Bacolod when we spent the Christmas there.
Feeding the pigeons is a good outdoor activity for toddlers. This may be a simple activity but this can them about birds. At this age, they can learn the different parts of a bird, such as the wings, feathers and beak by the close encounter with real birds.
The popular and historic Italian city inspired Venice Piazza’s interesting design and structure. After play time, family can stay and try the variety of restaurants in the piazza. The place also offers concerts and entertainment to mall goers.
Unlike Legaspi, Washington Sycip and Ayala Triangle Gardens, which are a few minutes from our place, this is a little far away and it may take us a while to come and visit again.
If you want to visit Venice Piazza at McKinley Hill, here’s the direction from Makati:
Near the Ayala MRT Station, look for the Shell Gasoline station. BGC Bus terminal is found there. Ride the route that is bound for Market Market. Get down at bus stop near the corner of Fifth Avenue and McKinley Road and look for jeepneys bound for FTI Gate 3. This will pass by the entrance of McKinley Hill. From the gate, it will be a few minutes walk to the Venice Piazza.
For private vehicles, it is also accessible through EDSA northbound using either Kalayaan Avenue or McKinley Road going to Forbes by the Ayala corner or C5 flyover coming from Buendia. If you are taking a cab, just tell the taxi driver that yo are going The Venetian Mall at McKinley Hill and he knows how to get there.
