Fluoride plays an important in building and keeping a set of strong, healthy teeth. However, there are many studies that show that fluoride is not safe when swallowed. That is why parents are advised to use fluoride-free toothpaste for children under 2 years of age or even those children who are still swallowing and not yet reliably spitting the toothpaste.
When our pedia gave us a go signal that we can use toothpaste, we looked for one for Gab to use. There are fluoride-free toothpaste for us to choose from but we decided to get Earth’s Best toothpaste from Healthy Options.
This is perfect since it’s safe if swallowed. He knows how to spit but he has not mastered it well. Sometimes, he still swallows even if you tell him to spit.
Earth’s Best Strawberry and Banana Toothpaste uses all natural ingredients to safely and gently cleanse delicate infant and toddler gums and promote strong teeth. It does not contain artificial colors, fragrances or harsh preservatives. It also comes with a soft gum brush.
Gab likes brushing his teeth and he’s loving it more because he now has a toothpaste to use like mom & dad. We continue to practice the art of spitting when he brushes even if we are brushing with fluoride-free “training toothpaste”.
