I first knew Veega from a friend and in the next grocery run, hubby got them so we can give them a try.
Veega is made from plant-based protein ingredients. The products include nuggets, giniling, sausage, meat balls and beef patties.
It’s easy to cook with these “meat” for our meals at home. They smell and taste good. With the texture, you will not even notice that you are not eating meat at all.
Veega Meat-Free Nuggets. We just air-fry these, without adding any oil. We eat is as is or sometimes add lemon sauce or sweet chili sauce. Gab love this the most among the Veega product line.
Veega Meat-Free Giniling. We use this if we want a meaty pasta. No need to saute with onion and garlic as it already seasoned and pre-cooked. We also use this to stuff tortang talong or on our menudillo.
Veega Meat-Free Sausage. We use this for sandwiches, for breakfast, or sometimes for pasta. We also tried using this to make sausage pineapple bites for appetizer.
Veega Meat-Free Balls, We mostly used this as topping for our pasta or for sweet and sour dishes.
Veega Meat-Free Burger Patty. We use this for a homemade burger or for patties in mushroom sauce.
Take note however, that Veega products are not vegan. It has egg whites in the ingredients. It is locally made by San Miguel.
Veega frozen food surprisingly has good taste and more affordable than other vegetarian/ vegan frozen products. Plus, it’s easy to find Veega in groceries or supermarkets (Robinson’s, SM or Cash and Carry). We stock these essentials in the freezer as we limit grocery trips every 2 weeks.
