Maisen, Japan’s widely-known tonkatsu house, serves you with top quality meat and fresh sauces with delicately-picked ingredients. Its name is a coined word, which means “go for it”.
The restaurant in Greenbelt 5, a small space, has a Japanese minimalist ambiance, with the big Maisen logo at the center wall.
They serve Katsu sets come with rice, (unlimitted) cabbage, pickle set, fruits, and miso soup. You can also order the Tonkatsu as a la carte, price is about Php 150 less than that of the set.
We ordered (and love) the Vegetable Katsu (Pumpkin, Eggplant, Zucchini, Potato and Tofu Katsu), Salmon Teriyaki and the Chicken Teriyaki.
While they serve mostly meats, I love it that they have vegetarian options. Next time, I want to try the vegetable curry set and may be some desserts.
Rating for Maisen Tonkatsu: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
