Acacia Hotel is one of the newest hotel in Alabang. As I had to stay late in Alabang for an event, with a little kid in tow, hubby decided for us to go for an Acacia Hotel Manila Staycation.
Booking and Check-in
As the booking was made using my husband’s credit card, and he will not be coming with us, I called up the hotel for the needed documents that I need to prepare. I was expecting the check-in to have additional verification since we are checking in with a special case. I presented the documents I was advised to prepare but additional documents, from my husband who is out of town, were still asked. Good thing, he was not travelling or flying and he has good signal to access his emails.
After more than half an hour, we were finally ushered to our room. I’m glad I had a well-behaved 4-year old who kept himself busy drawing and patiently waited for the check-in process to be completed!
Room
We booked a Deluxe Twin room. This is one of the few rooms of the hotel at the 4F with a small terrace. From the terrace, you can see the green area leading to the gym and the pool.
The room has a full size executive desk that can be used as a workspace and for gadgets and laptop. There are available outlets located by the sides of the beds but I prefer outlets attached to the bedside table for easier access.
We have a huge all-marble bathroom that has separate shower room and, Gab’s favorite, a bath tub. It’s supplied by the hotel’s brand of toiletries.
Pool
The pool is located at the 3F deck of the hotel. It has a small and big pools plus a jacuzi. The fitness center is also at the same level. We loved hanging out by the green open area after swimming. We can see our terrace and room from there!
Pastry Shop and The Lobby
The Pastry Shop that offers freshly baked cakes, and breads and the The Lobby at Acacia for scrumptious meal or a drink is open any time from 6 am to midnight. The hotel buffet restaurant, Acaci, serves Asian and international dishes during breakfast, lunch and dinner. The place has floor-to-ceiling glass windows with a street view. We opted not to get breakfast as we were expected to wake up late the next day.
What’s nice about the hotel location is it just across a mall with good food choices. For those who love to get quick bites, famous fast food places are just in front of the hotel entrance.
Though it may be a 10-15 minute walk from the big malls like Alabang Town Center and Festival Mall, the hotel offers free shuttle services that can take you around Filinvest area.
I hope they improve more on their services to make checking in more efficient and convenient for their guests. I understand that they have standard operating procedures, and security checks to be performed. But waiting for more than 30 minutes to check-in is unacceptable considering that I called and confirmed all the necessary documents needed days before our stay.
Acacia Hotel Manila is located at 5400 East Asia Drive cor Commerce Avenue, Filinvest Corporate City, Alabang, Muntinlupa City.
