According to Dr. Raissa Paje-Bayawa, a practicing pediatrician and a yoga instructor for kids, prenatal and postnatal moms, and adults, “Kids Yoga is a fun and exciting way of encouraging physical activity and learning in children. It is a form of focused play where kids can enjoy being active, be confident about themselves as they learn about the world and the people around them, share with and trust other children.”

Enhances Physical Flexibility

Yoga promotes and maintains strength and physical flexibility for the children’s growing bodies because kids learn to use their muscles in new ways. Whether it’s a standing, sitting, or lying down pose, each one can challenge different muscle groups while helping a child become aware of his or her body and how it efficiently functions.

Teaches Focus and Concentration

Practicing yoga encourages kids to clear their mind and focus on their effort for a particular pose or staying balanced. Based on several studies, yoga also helps children to focus and concentrate in school and get better grades.

Fosters Creativity, Boosts Self-Esteem and Confidence

Yoga teaches kids to be patient, to have perseverance to work toward their goals. When a child masters a certain pose, it gives him or her the confidence and self-esteem.
