I received this Kimochi Aroma Handmade Pillow a few weeks ago. Aside from the very relaxing scent, which makes our bedroom smell like we are inside a spa salon, this pillow has much more to offer. To those who wears many different hats through out the day – a wife, a hands on/homeschooling mom, and runner – like me, this handmade pillow is a blessing to feel relaxed at the end of the busy day.

It is a microwavable

There’s no danger of electrical shock or burns. It is a safer alternative to electric heating pads or the traditional hot water compress.

Just put the pillow inside the microwave for 30 seconds to 2 minutes (depending on size) and they are ready for use.

If you do not have a microwave, as an alternative, you can still use the pillow by steaming it but be careful not to wet the pillow or do not heat in direct fire or oven.

Natural Remedy

The pillows contain mixtures of grains and dried seeds. These sustains the heat and gives off a relaxing aroma for an added therapeutic effect.

Can also be used for cold compress

No need for a separate ice pack as the same pillow can be used for cold compress.  Just seal the pillow on a plastic bag or use a zip lock bag and put inside the freezer for 3 hours.

Can be re-scented

The pillow is infused with a subtle and soothing scent. But if the aroma wears off with the continued use, you can get an aromatic oil of your choice giving your pillow a new scent.

Affordable

Compare to heating pads, these pillows, wrapped in high quality cotton fabric is much affordable. They come in sizes depending on the uses, so you will have the option to choose what will be appropriate for you.

Extra Large Wrap Around at Php 400. Recommended for frozen shoulders, stiff neck, swollen legs, joint and knee pain, muscular sprains, menstrual and stomach pain, and lower back pain.

Filipino-made

Kimochi Aroma Pillow’s first product was created and designed in 2012 by Ryan Barros, a dragon boat rower, and his wife Michelle Barros, who is a physician by profession.

Ryan suffered from a dislocated shoulder and relied on therapy and hot compress to relieve his aching joint. He tried different remedies for pain, until he came across with an innovative idea of using a microwavable pillow.

Pillows are not washable

These pillows should be taken extra careful as they should not get wet or get immersed in water. Good thing the pillow comes in a good quality cotton case that you can change or wash as needed.

Limited availability

Pillows are locally available only in the Greenfields Weekend Market. But you can also reach them via facebook. Soon it will be out in an online store and the pillows will be more accessible and can be delivered right at your doorsteps!
